  • Located in the heart of Detroit’s emerging “Tech-Town” district, the LEED-Gold IBio Center is dedicated to studying health-related issues faced by local Detroit residents.
  • Natural light and views are enhanced while allowing a glimpse into the innovation occurring within.
  • The facility features large, flexible and open research labs and will support research activities for 50 Principal Investigators as well as visiting scientists, eminent scholars and clinical researchers.
  • The new LEED Silver building encompasses 207,000-square-feet of renovated and repurposed space within a former historic 1927 auto dealership.
  • The design encourages strong collaboration and provides an environment that will attract nationally recognized investigators and highly qualified young researchers to the university.
  • The open research environment offers opportunities to foster team science through collaborative interaction.
  • A key component of the building is its incorporation of natural light throughout.
  • HED provided full architectural design services for the project.
