  • Recognizing the uniqueness of CSUSM Nursing program, our experienced Simulation Designers researched to pair best practices to the organization’s existing model.


  • The Skills Lab is a flexible for space with ten patient beds, outfitted with headwalls and cubicle curtains. Central is a flexible lecture and seminar space for demonstration and instruction that be divided into two separate spaces to allow smaller pods of learning.
  • Large control room windows allow for direct connection between staff and students, true to the School’s stance on interaction and both passive and active learning.
  • The design facilitates the need for all types of learning including direct teacher instructed learning, active learning through student participation, self-reflection/ evaluation learning and student interaction spaces for off hour student bonding and study.
