  • San Jacinto Animal Shelter serves an area rapidly transforming from a rural agricultural landscape into an emerging residential community, and represents the latest Animal Services departmental policies encouraging pet adoptions, no euthanasia, community outreach and education, as well as full service animal medical clinic.
  • Situated on a 10 acre site, the facility is comprised of a main Administrative building of approximately 14,000 square feet that houses several key customer and animal service departments, including Adoption Services, Administrative Services, Community Outreach and Education, Field Services, and Animal Medical Services.
  • In addition to the main structure, several other Receiving, Kennel and Maintenance/Warehousing structures will be integrated around a central outdoor landscaped courtyard to form a campus-like setting totaling 45,000 sq feet in built structures.
  • An agrarian design vernacular reminiscent of some of the local rural structures that recalls the former agricultural roots of the area will be utilized to create a welcoming, and relaxing environment that encourages visitor interaction with the animals awaiting adoption or animal owners reconnecting with their lost/stray pets.
  • Low slung metal roofs, ample overhangs and covered outdoor walkways will afford shaded congregation areas to all of the campus facilities and attempt to blend the indoor and outdoor environments into a singular experience.
