Kirk in the Hills

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

Info

  • HED designed a new central elevator and stair for connectivity between the unaligned floor levels throughout the facility. The scale, detail and materiality of the new addition are sensitive to its location that mediates between the original 1923 Kirk House and the 1963 Abbey addition, providing a fresh interpretation of its timeless architecture.
