Size: 6 new Science Buildings on 6 High School Campuses
Services: Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services
Project Description: Single story and two story Classroom Science Laboratory Prototype Buildings have been developed and sited specifically for six campuses at Grossmont Union High School District just east of San Diego. Each building contains eight classroom labs and a central prep area. Labs have been flexibly configured so they can easily be set up for biology, chemistry and physics. Each campus selects the quantity of lab types according to curricular needs. Multiple alternatives were developed by Harley Ellis Devereaux during an intensive programming effort which included District Planners and Science Faculty. The new prototypes vary in massing, color palette and siting to provide a positive new presence to aging campuses which are in the process of revitalization.
"Harley Ellis Devereaux appropriately accommodates our program needs and enhances our campus environments."
Robert Kiesling, Executive Director Facilities Management
