New Design-Build, Sciences Building

  • Multi-disciplinary Research. Baylor University's Sciences Building unites under one roof the foundational sciences, providing an expanded science curriculum for the 21st century. Designed to foster an interactive community, the program includes flexible science classrooms and laboratories, and interdisciplinary research centers.

  • The exterior design skillfully combines brick masonry, precast concrete and historic forms to respect and reinforce the time-honored Georgian vernacular of the Baylor campus.
  • In a sweeping gesture of welcome, monumental historic columns define the primary building entrance that overlooks an interactive pedestrian plaza.
  • A grand, multi-level atrium serves as the primary interaction and socialization space for the Baylor community of students and faculty alike.
  • Curving balconies facing multi-story windows make for dynamic, ever-changing views.
  • Crisply finished and efficiently planned laboratory spaces optimize the teaching/learning experience for both faculty and students.
  • Flexible laboratory spaces and modular services provide for unlimited possibilities of scientific investigation and learning.
  • High-level research utilizing sophisticated equipment characterize Baylor’s science teaching programs as one of the most advanced in the nation.
  • Glowing, mist-filled fountains, coupled with illuminated picture windows make for lively nighttime scenes that say teaching and learning at Baylor never stop.
