IBio Center wins 2016 Impact Award from CREW Detroit

HED is pleased to announce the Integrative Biosciences (IBio) Center at Wayne State University has received a 2016 Impact Award in the Adaptive Reuse and Renovation category from the Detroit chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network.

As CREW Detroit’s most prestigious event, the Impact Awards attract more than 200 commercial property decision makers throughout Michigan. The Awards recognize outstanding southern Michigan commercial property developments that significantly impact their surrounding communities.

The IBio project beat out 10 other competitors in this highly contested category.

Designed by HED, the new IBio Center is a research lab dedicated to studying health-related issues faced by local Detroit residents. The project encompassed a complete restoration and repurposing of a 1927, 114,000 SF former Cadillac dealership and a new 83,000 SF addition.
