Harley Ellis Devereaux Receives Merit Award for Sustainable Design

Harley Ellis Devereaux received a Merit Award from the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA) for their sustainable design work on the Chrysler Phoenix Engine Plant.

The engine plant, situated on a 40-acre site and spanning over 800,000 square feet in Trenton, Michigan, became the first facility nationally to achieve a United States Green Building Council LEED Gold Certification for both building and manufacturing-related process energy.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition,” said Rick Torri, Science & Technology Studio Leader with Harley Ellis Devereaux. “Sustainability is a core value of our firm. To realize this level of building performance on such a large scale industrial project is testimony to the commitment of the project team and a reminder to all of us of what’s possible in our industry.”
