Deborah Wylie to speak at 2017 SCUP International Conference

Deborah Wylie, Higher Education Studio Leader, will present at the 2017 Society of College and University Planning (SCUP) Annual Conference July 8-12 in Washington, D.C.

About the Session:

While public-private partnerships (P3) offer significant benefits, public institutions need to consider many different factors before deciding to take on private business partners. This panel will share best practices learned from P3 projects—from a single campus project to planning at the system-level—primarily focused on front-end planning and programming to meet the university’s mission. We will share various models on this development model and discuss P3's benefits and its limitations.

Learning Outcomes

Weigh the opportunities and challenges inherent in long (60 years) P3 contracts.
Ensure that facilities are programmed holistically for flexibility over time.
Leverage revenue-based projects to include academic space needs.
Engage internal and external stakeholders at appropriate points in the process.
