David Jaeger to speak at annual Healthcare Design Conference

David Jaeger, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C, EDAC, Principal at Harley Ellis Devereaux, will sit on a panel during Healthcare Design Magazine's annual Healthcare Design Expo & Conference, November 14-17 in Washington, D.C.

About the Session

Children's Hospital Michigan: Blowing Up the Traditional Design Process

Children’s Hospital of Michigan, a large pediatric provider, had the difficult challenge of trying to incorporate integrated Lean facility design in a tight time frame. Hear how they “blew up” the traditional design process to create an ambulatory specialty center ($42 million), an emergency department, and operating rooms where Lean principles are used and a critical care tower to laterally expand existing operations ($100 million) in six months. Presenters will share what they learned from the integrated facility design process. Attendees will explore how to reshape the conversation around hospital design and how this methodology could be applied to current or future hospital projects.

  • Hear how architects and Lean consultant worked together to develop a “go-forward” design.
  • See specific examples of how to quickly deploy integrated facility design for positive impact and results.
  • Understand how the right team players and dynamics drive the process to quicker and significant results.
  • Learn how this project’s scorecard principles could be applied to your project.

The session will take place on November 16 from 3:20 p.m. - 4:20 p.m.
