Crittenton Hospital South Tower Addition receives Engineering Honorable Award from ACEC/Michigan

Crittenton Hospital's Cornerstone South Tower Addition has received an Engineering Honorable Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Michigan during their 2015 Engineering & Surveying Awards Competition.

The Engineering & Surveying Awards Competition recognizes special engineering and surveying accomplishments that demonstrate a high degree of client satisfaction through innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Situated off the southeast corner of the existing facility, the 156,500-square-foot, seven-story structure matches the finishes of the adjacent structures on campus. The upper floors of the building include four floors of 30 beds each for a total of 120 private rooms. The base floors of the building contain surgery expansion, a new pharmacy, loading dock expansion and other needed program spaces. The project also includes an eight-story elevator service that provides a bridge connection from the new building to the existing East Tower, as well as a bridge connector to the existing parking deck.

The renovation consisted of converting the existing patient rooms in the East Tower from semi-private rooms to private rooms. The work was phased to minimize disription

The firm will receive the award at ACEC/Michigan's annual banquet on February 27, 2016.
